PART I GENERAL
1.1 Scope of Work
A. The work required includes furnishing bullet resisting steel wall armor of the
sizes and quantities indicated.
B. The bullet resistant wall armor must be Underwriters Laboratories listed and bear
a U.L. Label for the
(specifier to
insert threat level) as defined by the standard of Safety U.L. 752
bullet resistant equipment.
NOTE: If the wall armor has a higher ballistic rating than those tested by UL, then
insert weapon, ammo type and number of shots it must resist.
1.2 Submittals
A. Provide the manufacturer's specifications, data, and other information which
substantiates compliance with the specified performance requirements.
B. Provide approval drawings that indicate sizes, details and installation
procedures for the bullet resistant wall armor required.
PART II PRODUCTS
2.1 Bullet Resistant Steel Wall Armor
A. Materials -
1. All bullet resistant armor will be manufactured from
Balistex(R)_________(model #) bullet resistant steel in accordance with U.L.
752. (For higher ballistic levels, delete UL 752 and add:
"The manufacturers independently tested assemblies to resist the
specified ballistic level.")

2. Finish of the armor shall be prime painted. 3. Balistex(R) overlap strips
will be provided to maintain ballistic integrity at seams.
4. Manufacturer shall provide anchoring preparation as required for a
proper installation.
PART III EXECUTION
3.1 Site Work -
1. Install the bullet resistant steel wall armor in
accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, specifications and
approved drawings. |
